Just only yesterday we have learn about the revolutionary version of Series B which will be launched at any time in the near future. We have seen some advanced features that are going to be available to tally community through the release of the upcoming series.Further to above, Tally Solutions is constantly taking care to  develop  more and more feature at a very affordable price to its community. Affordability  and simplicity is the root of tally’s basic identification.

Today we will discuss one such very much needed feature for SME’s esp those engaged in Manufacturing and use job work through third parties

First let’s understand the process of job work

A manufacture many times requires to send some raw materials or semi finished goods to job workers(ancillary units) to perform some process on the same. The job work performs the specified job and returns the materials to the manufacture. The final product received from the job worker may be same or different  in nature, qty quality etc.

So, there is a need to track the same.

Further many times a job worker send the same or some of the materials to another job worker for any further process if required.

Now issuance of materials on the entire process as mentioned above, does not requires any billing but still needed delivery challans and records as per requires by the Excise laws if a party is registered under the Central Excise Rules. Now it requires to be recorded properly. To assist such SME’s Tally is now releasing Job work features for such manufacturing units.

The Job Work for Manufacturers feature in Tally.ERP 9 is created to help Manufacturers relieve some of their most critical production problems. it allows manufacturers to efficiently track jobs that are outsourced to ancillary units (Job Workers), putting them in control of key aspects right from work-flows for material management to subcontracting. This helps in reducing cost and mitigating project risk.

Tracking capabilities include:

  1. Movement of raw material that is sent to ancillary units (Job Worker) against the job
  2. Job-wise movement of finished product from ancillary unit (Job Worker) back to the Manufacturer
  3. Tracking of the quantity of raw material that is used to create a finished product and the balance quantity of raw material at job worker place against the job
  4. Tracking the cost against the job

Job Work IN
For job worker IN, Tally.ERP 9 is ideal to track jobs through stages of manufacturing. Imagine a vendor receives an order from a Garment manufacturer. When they need to know how many garments out of the order have been completed and how much of the raw materials consumed, the vendor is easily able to track the order by stage, thereby knowing instantly how many shirts have reached the final stage of completion. The vendor can also track how much of their own material has been used against the order, so that it can be billed later, thereby receivables can be tracked.
Job Work OUT
Job OUT requires the tracking of material shipped and consumed against a Job Order. When a spare parts component manufacturer places a job order on a vendor, raw material is dispatched against the order (even in part shipments). The job worker sends back finished goods, raw material is consumed and the manufacturer can account for balance raw material as well as remaining finished goods due from the vendor. This powerful functionality permits users to track stages easily, letting managers see where goods are lying at any point in time.
Tally.ERP 9 yields a job-based assessment of progress that makes tracking of materials and goods as well as raw material projections easy. At any time, managers can know what was purchased/sold and their current stock positions.
The facility to extract the Statutory documentation (Job Work Registers) required by the Excise Department is also a major benefit to manufacturers dealing with multiple products, raw materials and vendors.

Key advantages include:
• Track-ability of material, job-wise
• Eliminates inefficiencies in raw materials movement
• Reduced inventory carrying costs
• Improved productivity
• Reduced cycle times
• Increased efficiency and cut costs

Of course to avail to above the benefits you need to renew your TNS today

  4. We have a dyeing company who delivers dyeing materials to their customers. We are preparing same dyeing colour process for different order of different customer in a single job. So, we have to prepare single job sheet mentioning different lot number and different customer name in a single job sheet. where we have to prepare the culour with raw material along with grey fabric. after finishing the process we have to receive the coloured fabric along with the wastage of raw materials from the winch / colouring machine.
